This letter is to notify you of a recent decision to end the utility's Guaranteed Hot Water program.

Several years ago, the Washington Legislature passed a law authorizing the utility to continue operating its long—running Appliance Repair and Guaranteed Hot Water programs. One of the key elements of the legislation was that the programs could not be subsidized by non—participating electric or water utility customers. Unfortunately, even with rate adjustments, efficiency improvements and significant cost—cutting measures, the programs have not been financially self—sufficient.

On March 18th, the utility's Board of Commissioners reluctantly voted to end our Appliance Repair and Guaranteed Hot Water programs, effective March 31, 2008. After that date, we will no longer honor requests for the repair or replacement of water heaters.

We thank you for your past participation and apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause.
